Other firsts in his career include : the first network of shortwave radio operators to collect and disseminate hurricane information under emergency conditions; the first NC radio news network; the first NC sports broadcasting network; the first NC broadcast from Madison Square Garden (NY); first Afrrican American morning program in the deep South et al.
