Map of the Rebel Lines at Raleigh, North Carolina. Evacuated April 13th, 1865 upon the approach of the Army commanded by Major General W.T. Sherman U.S.A. Reduced under the direction of Captain O.M. Poe, Corps of Engineers, Brevet Brigadier General U.S.A. & Chief Engineer, Md. Div. Miss; From captured Rebel map. B. Drayton [illegible].The map shows the North Carolina State Capitol and the surrounding areas. The map shows Cart Road, Chapel Hill Road, Tarboro Road, Avens Ferry Road, Fayetteville Road, Cart Road, Ram Cat Road, and Smithfield Road. The map shows Raleigh & Gaston Railroad, and North Carolina Railroad. The map shows Walnut Creek. The map shows Officers Quarters, Camp Holmes, Pettigrew Hospital, St. Mary's Seminary, and Spring Hill. The map inlcudes the names of Dr. Johnson, H. Mordecai, Haywood, Peck, M. Williams, D.F. Moore, and J.W.B. Watson.
